How IPL Vascular Correction Treatment Works 

IPL Vascular Correction occurs when Hemoglobin absorbs the light emitted by the IPL wavelength. It causes heat damage and the vessels collapse or close. The body's natural healing process works to gradually clear the damaged vessels.  ​

Tips - Did you know that we used the same IPL filter for pigmentation as we do for Vascular reduction?  When may be required to perform pigment correction first then Vascular reduction for optimal results.

​ Treatment Plan Considerations

  • Due can regeneration, 2-4 treatments are recommended​

  • The average re-treatment time is 1-2 weeks apart while the vessel walls are weak

  • Maintenance is recommended every 3-6 months

  • Superficial red capillaries and angiomas typically require 2-4 treatments

  • Darker red/purple capillaries required 4 or more treatments

  • Poikiloderma usually requires 4 or more treatments

Rosacea is a chronic skin condition that causes redness, bumps, and visible blood vessels on the face.  Vascular Correction for Rosacea typically requires

  • 4 treatments spaced 2 weeks apart to be with

  • Maintenance will typically be every few months

  •  Some medications can increase the risk of bruising, please speak to your therapist if you have concerns.

  • ​We do not use ice or numbing cream as it causes vasoconstriction, making the treatment less effective.  â€‹

Contraindications for Treatment

  • Sun Exposure or Fake Tan in the past 2 - 4 weeks

  • Have a history of light-sensitive rashes  or Systemic Lupus Erythematosus

  • Are using topicals that may irritate within the last two weeks e.g. Efudex, corticosteroids

  • Are on Roaccutane 

  • Active skin infections

  • Taking light sensitivity medication 

  • Pregnant

  • Skin cancer or suspicious lesion

IPL is generally safe and effective, but it’s important to have it performed by a licensed and experienced professional to avoid potential complications.

Key Tips for Preparing for the Best Results

The client's skincare can support optimal post-treatment outcomes. Antioxidants such as Green tea have been used to reduce UVB-induced inflammation.  Retinol can reduce facial spider veins. Reduce sun exposure and always apply â€‹UV SPF protection.​​​​
